I am a firm believer that a good lip color can change your whole makeup look. So, I am super excited to be sharing my go-to lip colors with you all. These variations are really good for year round and can be tied together for a night out or to go run some errands. What I really love about the lip colors I have been using is that I can mix and match with them and they all blend really well together. I will go in detail about some of the products I mix together to create a perfect neutral pink & brown tone. I hardly ever go for a bold lip but when I do find a bold lip color I will be sure to share with you guys, especially with Christmas and New Years coming around. Which I still cannot believe we are almost in 2020.
Lip Liners
NYX Suede ‘Stockholm’ – This an Ash Pink color and pairs perfectly with any matte liquid lipstick and matte lipsticks. If I am wanting a brighter lip color I will pair this with a more peachy pink lipstick or if I want a more neutral tone then I will pair this lip liner with a pink lipstick with brown undertones. There is even a matching lipstick to this lip liner, The Suede Stockholm Matte Lipstick.
NYX Slide On Lip Pencil ‘Bedrose’ – This super creamy lip liner truly matches the name it was given, it glides on nicely and could honestly be used as a lipstick. It is a soft nude pink with mauve undertones. I usually pair this with a pretty pink lipstick and lip gloss to give it an extra bit of shine.
Kylie Jenner ‘Koko K’ – This a beautiful light pink shade and just like the slide on lip pencil from NYX, this lip pencil glides on so nicely and can be worn alone or paired with a mauve or brown undertone creamy lipstick or matte lipstick. I will even sometimes do a more brown-pink lip liner like the MAC ‘Whirl’ and put this Koko K lip liner as the base color and pair it with a lip gloss to give me that Jessie James Decker lip look.
MAC Lip Pencil ‘Whirl’ – This is a “dirty rose” color which to me is a basically mauve but when I apply it, it has some brown undertones and that just may be because of my skin tone. This is my favorites and I often pair this with a variety of my lipsticks and glosses.
Lip Sticks
Milani Color Statement Lipstick ‘Dulce Carmelo’ – This a beautiful soft pink lipstick. You could wear this alone with a paired lip liner for soft finish or add your favorite gloss on top.
Milani Color Statement Matte Lipstick ‘Matte Naked’ – I love this color because it is super neutral and the matte gives it a soft finish if you want to go for that look. It is a mauve color with more pink undertones.
MAC Amplified Lipstick ‘Half n Half’ – My go to lipstick. It literally takes after it’s name half pink and half brown. It pairs with most if not all my lip liners because of it being a great mixture of both tones.
Morphe Creme Lipstick ‘Flirt’ – I cannot brag enough about Morphe because they are a great makeup brand with reasonably priced makeup. This lipstick is so beautiful and is described as a blush nude. If you really want that Jessie James Decker or J-Lo look, pair this lipstick with a slightly darker lip liner and light pink gloss.
Glosses
These two lip glosses have a more pink clear look and can go over any lip color to add a shine:
MAC Lipglass ‘Love Nectar’ – A more peachy tone but still pairs beautifully with any lip color look. I have been using this gloss since high school.
Milani Keep It Full ‘Luminoso Lumineux’ – A pink tone that is supposed to give you fuller lips.
Another two options to add a more colorful gloss but still keep a neutral tone are:
Milani Amor Shine ‘Delight Delice’
Milani Keep It Full ‘Rosewood Bois De Rose’
My favorite combination lately has been the Mac ‘Whirl’ lip liner, Milani ‘Dulce Carmelo’ and the Milani Amor Shine ‘Delight Delice’.
