First of all, I cannot believe it is about to be July. Like how has quarantine somehow made the year fly by. It’s probably because I have been spending weeks and weeks doing research on skincare products, talking to a couple estheticians, and putting my face through irritation to FINALLY get a great skincare regime. When I turned 25 it’s like my entire body changed, and the major one taking a hit was my face. I was having pimple after pimple appear and the worst part to me was the acne scarring and pigmentation spots on my face that were not going away.
As we age our skin looses it’s elasticity, our pores become bigger, wrinkles are more visible, the collagen fibers no longer bounce back, the sun exposure damage is real, and our hormones just throw it all even more out of whack.
MAJOR NEWS. We can age gracefully and take preventative measures to help support our beautiful skin and faces as the inevitable aging happens. I want you to note that 1. I am not a professional, this is just what has been working for me and 2. I have normal to oily skin especially in the summers with the Texas Humidity. So, I recommend looking at how each product will work with your skin type.
My morning routine is filled with a bunch of goodies. The order I do them in as follows: Tula Face Wash, Saturday Skin Toner, Ordinary Amino Acids + B5 then the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, CeraVe Vitamin C Serum, Tula Dew Your Thing Moisturizer, Face Sunscreen (I go in with the CeraVe Ultra Light Matte Sunscreen and then do Tula’s Sunscreen on my cheeks and nose to leave that pretty sunshine glow look), and finish off with the Tula Cooling Eye Balm.
Saturday Skin Toner – Toners help improve the appearance of your skin by working on minimizing your pores, texture, and restores your skin’s pH balance. Find a toner that isn’t going to strip your skin and has glycolic acid.
Ordinary Serums – I use the Niacinamide Serum to help with the oiliness and it also reduces the appearances of blemishes. I mainly use this serum on my cheeks and forehead, where I breakout the most. The Amino Acids Serum helps with protecting and repairing your skin’s barrier and support hydration and elasticity. Keeps it TIGHT. I use this all over my face.
Vitamin C Serum – This is an antioxidant for your face. It will help with the production of collagen.
Sunscreen – You NEED a sunscreen in your morning routine because this is MAJOR in preventing skincare damage. If it’s one thing I recommend getting, it is this.
My nighttime routine is more simple while also helping me prevent blemishes from appearing or scaring, and it includes the holy grail a RETINOL serum and retinol eye sleeping mask. I have recently learned that makeup wipes are terrible for our skin because they actually just push gunk, by gunk I mean bacteria around our face and into our pores. I have started using a Makeup Balm Remover and it actually takes off my makeup way better.
Retinol Serum – This is an anti-aging product. This is a MUST because it will help improve the appearance of wrinkles and improve the texture of your skin.
Retinal Eye Sleeping Mask – The glow recipe eye cream will help smoothen, depuff and treat the appearance of dark circles.
Ordinary Rose Hip Seed Oil – This is very hydrating and will help with anti-aging. Love this product. I use this everyday or every other day.
OTHER PRODUCTS I USE
I try to do a mask twice a week and exfoliate once a week. I love this mask and body scrub from Amazon. I recently, as in this week, started using the Ordinary Peel Solution and I was told to do this twice a week to help with the acne scarring and blemishes. So far so good. My skin looks and feels great after the fist two uses.
Everyday Sunday I add in the Isle of Paradise self tanning drops to my moisturizer at night and it leaves the prettiest sun kissed glow. It is a product I recommend adding to your weekly skincare routine.
The other extra products on here are the face scrubs I use to wash my face to get a deeper scrub, the face mask silicon brush to apply the mud mask because it is way less of mess than using my hands, and the Laneige lip sleeping mask that I use nightly to keep my lips hydrated and soft.
Drink your water, take some time for yourself babes and enjoy the routine of a skincare regimen.
