Revival Hotel is a hidden gem within the historic district, Mount Vernon. This hotel is quite literally a step back in the past. The hotel once known to be a mansion and residential building dating back to early 1900s and once the site for Baltimore Museum of Art’s exhibition in 1923 is now known for being the “Best Staycation” Hotel. You are surrounded by city views and the charm of a vibrant neighborhood.
This hotel truly makes you feel at home and you can feel the warmth of the staff’s hospitality from the moment you check in until the moment you check out. They support local art and artists, which can be spotted throughout the hotel and the new beautiful mural outside on the street. Revival is inclusive to all and the support they show the community is what made me fall in love even more with this hotel.
Rob and I enjoyed our time in Baltimore but ending our time in the place known as the Charm City at Hotel Revival is just what we needed to wrap up our season. I felt comfortable and safe with the COVID-19 safety measures they are taking to ensure the comfort of hotel guests and foodies looking to dine at the rooftop restaurant, Topside.
pandemic safety measures
All hotel employees must wear mask at all times and all guests and people coming in to dine must have masks on in open areas. They ensure your room was cleaned and sealed for freshness. You can also choose to dine in your room or their newest outdoor dining vs. dining in at the restaurant. We felt safe dining in doors because tables were socially distanced and servers were required to wear masks.
Guest parking
Pre-pandemic there was valet available to guests but with the current situations they offer private garage parking about a block away from the hotel. The garage is a secure space and you are given your own garage opener to get in and out of the garage.
king room with mount vernon views
I was so obsessed with this room. From the design to the furniture, I felt like I could have stayed in bed all day curled up in bed in those luxurious linens. For me when I check in to a hotel, the bed is what makes or breaks a stay and this bed and pillows felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. The room is super spacious, which is a bonus for when we have both dogs with us and the hotel is pet friendly.
As I stated above this building was once a mansion and residential building in the early 1900s, so the guest rooms are designed to mirror how former residents may have lived from the beautiful oak finishes, mid century tile and furniture, plushy colorful carpets, and eye catching wallpaper.
Each rooms includes a mini fridge, personal steamer, luxurious bath amenities, luxe linens, bluetooth radio/alarm clock, 49 in screen TV, and locally curated art pieces. You can also brew a delicious cup of coffee with the drip coffee basket and kettle they have in the rooms.
Dining + other amenities
Enjoy some of the best views in town at their rooftop restaurant, Topside or across the way from Topside is the Garden Room that is a little oasis and transforms you into full relaxation mode. The room feels like a greenhouse filled with beautiful plants and cozy lounge furniture.
The Topside menu is a seafood curated and filled with delicious apps and dinner plates. Maryland is known for crab so I of course got the Crab It Up Pasta because HELLO pasta and Rob indulged in the scallops. For appetizers we got the Crispy Shrimp and Mr. Crab’s Dip and they both are amazing but we could not get enough of the crab dip that was topped with cocktail sauce with a side of tarro chips. YUMM.
You can sip on craft cocktails or local brews. Revival serves 13 beers on tap and over 30 bottles and cans, some of those are locally brewed in Maryland.
Another really awesome amenity are the 3 private karaoke rooms you can rent out to yourself or for your group, and spend the night singing the night away. Who doesn’t love karaoke.
When you find yourself in Baltimore, Maryland I would highly recommend you stay at Revival Hotel because this place isn’t like every other hotel.
This stay was hosted but I would never share anything that I didn’t firmly believe in or love.
