Rob and I are both Corpus Christi natives so when Lively Beach officially opened I was hesitant to believe that something this beautifully made and designed was placed on Mustang Island right next J.P. Luby. I grew up along this side of the Gulf of Mexico and from a young age all I could remember was how crappy our beaches were and anytime I told people we were from Corpus there was a hint of shame in my tone.
BUT Y’ALL I am so so impressed with Lively Beach Resort. I truly felt like we were on our own little island. The beach was beautiful and clean, the resort style pool was so nice to lay by when we didn’t feel like being beach side, the giant boardwalk captured beautiful 360 views of the beach and resort, and the room was AMAZING.
The details
We stayed in 1 bedroom 2 bath with deck on the third floor. The room has a full sized kitchen, living room, dining table, king bed with private bath, and the living room had a queen pull out bed with a bathroom. You could comfortably sleep 4 and host friends and family in your room for a great little get away on Mustang Island. I want to add that the beds were both super comfortable, my guests all said that they were super impressed with the quality and comfort of the beds. BONUS: Load up your pets because this resort is dog friendly.
The resort itself has everything you could need. Outside of the full kitchen in the rooms there is also many outdoor grills with sinks, shaded areas for dining, cornhole on elevated boardwalks, resort pool with shaded cabanas, rooftop sitting areas with 360 views of the bay and beach, and a boardwalk that leads you right to the beach.
COVID-19 Safety measures
The resort offers touch-less check-in and check-out. As guests at lively beach you can check-in on your phone avoiding the lobby entirely by using the door code provided during the on-line check-in process. The resort is gated and secure, and all of housekeeping and on-site staff are required to wear masks. I felt completely safe and there were not many guests crowding in the same areas.
The beach was open and vehicular transportation is allowed should you want to load up your car and park on the beach for the day. The sand is pretty well kept and flattened but keep an eye out for loose sand to ensure your vehicle doesn’t get stuck.
